Update: SOLD OUT! Some would consider this knot as Update: SOLD OUT! Some would consider this knot as an ‘imperfection’, I think it brings out the character of the wood. I’d keep it for myself if I didn’t already have several in use!

This is the last large garden basket I have left. I’m not sure if I’ll make any more before baby comes, so if you’re wanting one, this beauty might be a good catch.

You can find it in my Etsy shop!

The sun is shining even though we have highs in th The sun is shining even though we have highs in the low 20’s. We are thankful for the little bit of moisture we had this past week 🙏🏻 (My milk cows might not be so appreciative😅)

Our Angus heifers and cows that are calving are being watched extra close on these cold days/nights. No reason to risk losing a calf or letting it get behind due to cold weather. Every calf is valuable🐮

Thankful for my husband who is so dedicated and diligent in caring for our cattle and making sure these babies get off to a good start - He’s the greatest example of being a good steward of what God has given us.

Warmer weather is on the horizon!
The snow is falling, and all the chickens and duck The snow is falling, and all the chickens and ducks are inside the coop. The geese have a house to go into, but would rather be outside❄️

The coop and porch need a good scrub down this spring, because, you know, poultry just have a habit of making everything that surrounds them dirty🤪
Exactly how I feel about today too…5° right now Exactly how I feel about today too…5° right now, was -5° this morning when I did my chores, and not being able to zip up your overalls over the baby bump really does make a difference in how warm you stay🥴

A few more days of this. Prayers for everyone working outside in this frigid cold. Praying the heifers/cows who are close hold off till warmer weather comes this weekend, and praying for the baby calves we already have on the ground. It was 60° on Sunday. A huge change for their little bodies. 🙏🏻
Ducks have to be one of my favorite animals around Ducks have to be one of my favorite animals around here. They are so low maintenance, quiet (compared to the geese), and are sweet in disposition. Their eggs are great for baking and are a lower acidity than chicken eggs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They do need water to bathe in year-round and keep clean (and feed of course), but besides that they don’t require much more!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Aaaand they don’t destroy your gardens like chickens and geese!
