10 Last Minute Gift Ideas for the Homesteader

Are you looking for a last minute gift for the homesteader in your life (maybe even a gift for yourself… hint, hint Honey!)? I’ve got ya covered. Out here on the prairie, we need products that are durable and will stand the test of time. Here’s a list of my top 10 gift ideas for the Homesteader. These fit a variety of budgets, and if you have Amazon Prime you can get these in a jiffy!

(Before I go on, be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram!)

Muck Boots

Boots on the ground. Muck brand boots are a favorite. All of the men working on our ranch wear these in the fall, winter and spring, and I wouldn’t go without my own pair. They are easy to clean and are SO warm on those single digit days!

PEET Shoe and Boot Dryer

This boot dryer and warmer is of the best purchases you will ever make! We use this every day. I use it during the day after my morning chores and afternoon chores, and my husband put his boots on it during the night. It uses radiant heat to dry out your boots and they are oh, so warm when you put them back on! It also reduces odors and bacteria. No more stinky wet boots!

Carhartt Overalls

These overalls cut the chill like nothing else! They are warm, but don’t restrict movement. I’m still waiting for the maternity version…Ha! Milking cows in overalls is no easy task, especially when pregnant! I always had to leave mine unzipped.

Stormy Kromer Rancher Cap

A Stormy Kromer cap is one of my husband’s favorite clothing items. Most ranchers around here sport one of these in the winter, and for good reason! It is sure to keep you warm with the fold down ear flaps.

Excalibur Dehydrator

This dehydrator is on my wish list. I primarily can our produce and dehydrate in our oven, when needed, but I plan on using this for a more efficient way of food preservation.

All American Pressure Canner

My trusty pressure canner. I put up all kinds of low acid produce and meat with this canner. It is very high quality and it’s USA made!

Water Bath Canner

The best canner for fruits, jams and jellies, and acidic veggies. So easy and light. I also use this to sterilize my jars when I’m pressure canning.

Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving

The best book to have at your side for food preservation. Canning is very easy, but specific guidelines need to be followed to make sure you food will be safe to eat when you pop open that jar! This book gives great guidelines and has hundreds of fun recipes to try.

Food Saver

I like to buy in bulk, and when I have food staples or spices that I need to seal up for future use, this is what I use. This food saver has settings for wet and dry foods. You can even re-seal the plastic bags if you only need to use a portion.

Seed to Seed: Seed Saving and Growing Techniques for Vegetable Gardeners, 2nd Edition

Even though I love perusing seed catalogs and ordering new varieties, I prefer to save my own seeds and save money! Seed to Seed is excellent and explains exactly what steps to follow to save your precious seeds for successful planting! You can download my free Printable Seed Inventory Tracker here to keep track of all of your heirloom seeds!

That’s it! My top 10 Gift Ideas for the Homesteader! Time to go shopping!

Until next time, Happy Trails!
